Annotation
“Untitled #3” by Keith Haring is a hand-signed & numbered screenprint from the portfolio of four works titled, Pop Shop lV, published by Martin Lawrence Editions, 1989. The artwork is signed numbered and dated. Untitled #3 has been stored in an architectural flat-file drawer in a smoke-free adult environment. All of our prints are kept in tissue and/or plastic sleeves and mailed flat to ensure safe travels. I acquired the artwork from the Dyansen Gallery, Atlantic City, NJ in 1991.
About Keith Haring
Keith Haring was born in Pennsylvania in 1958. He attended the Ivy School of Professional Art in Pittsburgh for a semester and transferred to the School of Visual Arts in NYC. It was in the late 1970s and early 1980s in lower Manhattan that he developed his personal style. Influenced by graffiti street art he honed what would become his signature style of heavy lines, bold colors, and simplified human stick figures.
In the 80’s he achieved international recognition for his images taking part in solo and group shows throughout Europe. Much of his work includes sexual allusions that turned into social activism. He achieved this by using sexual images to advocate for safe sex and AIDS awareness. Today his artwork is instantly recognized and it has been sought after by mainstream collectors globally. Haring was diagnosed with AIDS in 1998 and soon passed away. [Source: Wikipedia]
