Early Modern (1900-1945)
At the beginning of the 20th century, the spirit of modernity came out in a lot of groups that were very different from what people thought about art and had a huge impact on society. This was an unusually fertile period for cultural change. Groups all over Europe quickly shared ideas that were very different but very important, like Cubism, Fauvism, and a few other isms. There were a lot of different styles that emerged, but they were always connected together by the Modernist concept of how things change and the goal of finding the ultimate look.
